Where does the time go?

In an attempt to spare my husband from the thousand/thousandS of words I NEED to get out daily, I have decided to blog. I find it easy to type what I'm thinking- it gives me a chance to sort out my thoughts and feelings. My daughter turned 5 months old this past week and I find myself asking "where has the time gone?". I remember being a small child and running around in my grandmothers sprinklers in the heat of summer. I remember the awkwardness of becoming a teenager. I remember getting my license and thinking 'it doesn't get much better than this' I remember engagement to my husband and anticipating our wedding. I remember moving out of state and experiencing a new place. I remember when I was awaiting my daughters arrival with such impatience and excitement. I remember feeling her move inside of me and watching waves across my belly like an ocean. I remember thinking "my life is going to be so different when she gets here" and then like a bomb...BOOM..she was here and boy was I right. My life has changed and IS so different. It's funny how you don't realize how much your life revolves around you until it HAS to revolve around someone else. Becoming a mother has brought so much joy and happiness into my life and I'm just starting to realize that it's because my life since giving birth has been about servanthood. You have to sacrifice so much once you become a parent and it has really taught me about selflessness. Letting go of what you want to give someone else what they need. I can't explain the love that I have for my daughter but I can say that it makes me think of how Jesus must feel for his children- loving us, His children, unconditionally. I look at my daughter as she plays on the floor and rolls over and somehow makes her way in a circle and can't believe how fast she is growing. It seems like just yesterday I was holding her in my hospital room, exhausted beyond belief but so in love and in awe of this new little blessing that I made myself stay awake, while she slept, just to stare at her. I look at my daughter and am reminded of God's love for me. My daughter changes and teaches me new things every single day and it's amazing how we become so wrapped up in teaching our children things and making sure they know certain things but when WE just pay a little bit of attention, our children are teaching us more than we could imagine. It's so wonderful the lessons that can be learned from the little ones in our lives. So, an answer to a question asked by millions...'Where does the time go?"- I couldn't say for sure... but I wish it wouldn't go so fast.
